Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Description

The Sacramento County Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) provides services to the community for the purpose of increasing awareness regarding the hazards of lead exposure, reducing lead exposure, and increasing the number of children assessed and appropriately blood tested for lead poisoning. Our mission is to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of lead poisoning among Sacramento County's children under the age of six, as well as other high-risk children. No level of lead in the body is safe! Small amounts of lead can build up in the body and cause lifelong learning and behavioral problems. Lead poisoning is one of the most common environmental illnesses in California but is completely preventable.
