WaterFluoridation

Fluoride is a safe and effective way to prevent cavities. Fluoride can be found in tap water, toothpaste and can be applied as a varnish.

  1. Fluoride varnish is applied to help prevent tooth decay, slow it down, or stop it from getting worse.
  2. Children living in communities with fluoridated tap water have less tooth decay than children who live in areas without fluoridated water.1 Adults and seniors benefit from drinking fluoridated tap water, too.
  3. All toothpastes with the ADA Seal of Acceptance contain fluoride.
